All children must have an adult (18 years or older) with them at all times. No adults are allowed into the museum without a child.

Strollers must remain on the upper level (or in the car). Baby carriers, cubbies and stroller valet are available.

Snack and drinks should remain in the snack room (water is ok).

Shoes should be removed when playing in the Rescue Harbor or the VIB (Very Important Babies) Lounge.


What are the recommended ages for the Zimmer?

We believe the Zimmer is most enjoyed by ages 0-8. We offer special programs for different ages from crawlers and up!

Is there a changing area in the building?

Yes, on the lower level of the museum there are changing tables in both restrooms.

May I bring my own food into the museum?

Yes, on the lower level is a room reserved for snacks and lunches. Vending Machines with healthy choices are also available. Food is not permitted anywhere else in the museum.

Is there an area to breastfeed my child?

Women are free to nurse their children in any space of the Museum. For added privacy we suggest finding a quiet corner of the snack room.

Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?

Yes, there is an elevator located in the building lobby. All of our exhibits are designed to allow for wheelchair accessibility.

May I bring my stroller?

Because of space limitations we encourage you to leave your strollers in the car. In accordance with the Fire Marshal, strollers MUST be parked in the lobby on the ground floor of the museum. The Zimmer Children’s Museum is not responsible for any personal belongings.

How long does it take to see and experience the Zimmer?

The visitor experience varies with each child, though commonly you can expect to spend one to three hours here. Please note: No one will be admitted to the museum within 20 minutes of closing.

Would my baby (under 18 months) enjoy the museum too?

Yes, very much. We have a special toddler bounce room for them to enjoy, a water table to splash in, a quiet nook for storytime, and many fascinating things to discover. Also, check out our EXCLUSIVELY BABIESpage for more options we have just for tiny tots.

Does the Museum offer free or discounted admission or memberships?

Yes. EBT cardholders are admitted free when card is presented, and discounted memberships are available based on need. Click HERE for more information.

Do you host school groups at the Zimmer?

We do! We host field trips on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for pre-K through 1st grade by reservation. For more information, please visit our field trips page here.

Do you offer refunds?

No refunds will be issued for admission, memberships, or programs.
